The Masterplan, que nunca fue incluido dentro de ningún álbum de estudio de la banda, vio la luz por primera vez como cara B del single Wonderwall (1995), para más tarde pasar a formar parte del recopilatorio de caras B del mismo nombre, The Masterplan (1998).
Como dato curioso, este tema fue compuesto e interpretado por Noel Gallagher, quien dijo del mismo que era una de las mejores canciones que había escrito, admitiendo haber pecado de joven y estúpido cuando tomó la decisión de publicarla como cara B.
